Firefly - live life in moments.

Within the flickering flame
Of black waxed candle
Something flitters - illumined -
Then lands on silver handle

Blinking out the brightness
Tiny creature of lace wing
Breathing deep the twilight
Softly begins to sing

Calling out to kindred
Serenading all who hear
Calling together brethren
To place devoid of fear

Outside frosted window
Within the spreading night
Glowing pinpoint creatures
Appear while taking flight

Singing out in triumph
Song that calls them home
Home to flickering candle
No longer shall they roam

Seduced beyond discretion
Feelings they can't name
Drive them to destruction
Within the searing flame

Ratatouille trailer 2

The rat Rémy (Patton Oswalt) lives in a colony in the attic of a French country home with his brother Émile (Peter Sohn) and father Django (Brian Dennehy). Inspired by France's recently deceased top chef, Auguste Gusteau (Brad Garrett), Rémy tries to live the life of a gourmet. Not appreciating his talents, his clan puts him to work sniffing for rat poison in their food.

Rémy and the rats flee the house when the resident, an old woman, discovers the colony. Rémy, separated from the others, floats in the storm drains to Paris on a cookbook by Gusteau, following the chef's image to his namesake restaurant, now run by former sous-chef Skinner (Ian Holm). As Rémy watches from a skylight a young man with no culinary talent, Alfredo Linguini (Lou Romano), arrives with a letter of introduction from his recently deceased mother, and is hired on to do janitorial duties. Linguini spills a pot of soup and attempts to cover up his mistake by adding random ingredients. Upset, Rémy falls into the kitchen and attempts to fix the ruined soup rather than trying to escape. Linguini catches Rémy in the act, just as Skinner catches Linguini. In the confusion some of the soup has been served. To everyone's surprise, the soup is a success.

Rémy discovers that he can control Linguini's movements by pulling on his hair. The kitchen's sole female cook, Colette (Janeane Garofalo), convinces Skinner not to fire Linguini, provided he can recreate the soup. Skinner orders him to take Rémy away; Linguini, refusing to kill the rat, begins an alliance by which Rémy secretly directs Linguini in return for his protection. The two perfect a marionette-like arrangement by which Rémy tugs at Linguini's hair to control his movements and stays hidden under Linguini's toque blanche.

Skinner plies Linguini with vintage Château Latour in an unsuccessful attempt to discover the secret of his unexpected talents. The next morning, hung over and disheveled, Linguini nearly confides his secret to Colette. Desperately trying to stop Linguini, Rémy pulls his hair, making him fall on Colette and leading the two to kiss. They begin dating, leaving Rémy feeling abandoned. Meanwhile, Skinner learns after some sleuthing that, unknown to everyone, Linguini is in fact Gusteau's son and stands to inherit the restaurant. This would thwart Skinner's ambition to exploit Gusteau's image to market prepared frozen foods.

One night Rémy and his colony are reunited. While scrounging food Rémy discovers Gusteau's will which, after a chase by Skinner, he presents to Linguini. Linguini now owns the restaurant, fires Skinner, and becomes a rising star in the culinary world. After a falling out, Linguini decides he no longer needs Rémy, and Rémy retaliates by leading a kitchen raid for his rat colony. Linguini attempts to apologize to Rémy, only to discover and expel his colony. Rémy feels guilty about hurting his friend, and refuses to join them in resuming the raid.

Things come to a head the night of a planned review by jaded food critic Anton Ego (Peter O'Toole), the exact same critic who ruined Gusteau's life after he gave him a bad review and reduced his five-star restaurant to four stars. Linguini, unable to cook without the rat's guidance, admits his ruse to the staff when Rémy shows up, leading them all to walk out. Colette returns after thinking through Gusteau's motto, "Anyone can cook!" Django, inspired by his son's courage, returns with the entire rat colony to cook under Rémy's direction, while Linguini, discovering his true talent, waits tables on roller skates. Colette helps Rémy prepare ratatouille; Rémy's new recipe produces a dish so good that, in the climax of the film, a bite of it leads Ego to relive childhood memories of his mother. Ego asks to meet the chef but Colette insists he must wait until the rest of the diners have left. At the end of the service, Rémy and the rats are revealed. A changed man, Ego writes a glowing review, declaring that the chef at Gusteau's is the greatest chef in all of France.

In the denouement Gusteau's is closed by a health inspector, who finds the rats after being tipped off by Skinner. Ego loses his credibility and job when the public discovers he has praised a rat-infested restaurant. Everything is for the best, however; with Ego as investor and regular patron, Linguini, Colette, and Rémy open a successful new bistro called "La Ratatouille," which includes a kitchen and dining facilities for both rats and humans.

Mocha: Selling coffee or addiction?

The story is about a leading coffee outlet, which faces criminal action for mixing alcohol with coffee without the mandatory excise license.

CALL IT COFFEE revolution in India, or coffee addiction, but Mocha, one of India’s biggest coffee chains today faces criminal action. Reason: It has been found mixing alcoholic beverages with coffee and that too without obtaining the mandatory excise license for the same.

While tea is the traditional beverage of Northeast Asia and India, coffee has long been consumed in Southeast Asia. Kopi tubruk remains popular among ordinary Indonesians, but here at Mocha you get the feel of coffee from any part of the world under one roof. Its menu has it all and to say it in a few words a visit to Mocha is more of an experience.

While Mocha, India’s coffee chain for the ‘affluent few’ claims that it’s beyond just sipping coffee with an unforgettable ambience and finest coffees from all over the world, the Chandigarh police feels the other way and have booked the manager and managing directors of the local outlet, which happens to be one of the 13 outlets across the nation including those in the national capital of New Delhi and metropolitan city like Mumbai.

It is one place where you can choose your flavour of freshly roasted and ground American, African or Indian coffee and enjoy fruit-flavoured sheeshas from Egypt, but beyond coffee, what the city administration feels is addiction, that this café was promoting in the name of coffee.
The Chandigarh police during a last week raid on the coffee outlet in sector 26 here arrested its manager for possessing red and white wine without license. More rum and wine bottles have been recovered from the outlet.

The excise department officials said possession of country liquor or foreign liquor in any quantity is prohibited in a restaurant under the provisions. A menu card of the restaurant showing that certain preparations in the restaurant are being prepared and served after mixing alcoholic beverages in these preparations were also recovered and taken into possession during the inspection.

Chandigarh which is emerging as one of the most happening cities of India has recently taken to the popular way to drink coffee in Southeast Asia.

Here youngsters prefer mixtures of coffee, ice, chocolate or vanilla and milk blended together and then topped with whipped cream, and with city being also high on liquor consumption in the country, young generation had been thronging Mocha here, which had only opened early this year. There is also a rise in drunken brawls and drunken driving in the city, which the officials figures clearly reveal, after the city administration liberalised its excise policy, thus facilitating easy and cheap availability of liquor in city.

Naked Dance of Indian Politics.

INDIA, the second most populated country in the world after China and a holy place for the people of different cultures and faiths, is unfortunately running out of a constructive opposition party in Parliament.

It is the irony of Indian politics that the parties sitting in opposition consider it their duty to oppose each and every bill, presented by the ruling party, and prove it an exploiting bill and against the general masses. It is true that Indian Constitution has given the freedom to all the members of Legislative Assembly and Parliament to oppose each and every action of ruling party, which is against the interests of citizens of India. But here the question is—Are our politicians really concerned about the welfare of Indians?

In western countries we have generally witnessed that the members of the house support only those bills, which are in the favour of citizens of that country. If the parties in opposition find the bill useful for the people, they happily accept it. Similarly, if the bill is of no use, even the members of ruling party come forward to support the Opposition and make all efforts to get that bill rejected. But in our country, the scenario is different. Here the parties in opposition seem more honest towards themselves and they oppose just for the sake of opposing.

For this old trend, ruling parties are equally responsible. They always show bossiness while presenting any bill and appointing people (Governors of state, chairperson of Censor Board, Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission and so on) of their choice and they don’t prefer taking the view of Opposition. The Presidential election is the recent example of it. Though Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was being considered the most eligible person for the post of President, UPA was not ready to withdraw its candidate, Pratibha Patil. And finally Patil won the election and has become the first woman President of India.

Now, opposition has created the similar situation. They are not ready to support UPA -Left alliance (ruling party) candidate Mohammad Hahmid Ansari for the post of Vice President. NDA and UNPA are supporting Najma Heptullah and Msood Ahmad respectively. Though everybody knows that Mohamad Hamid Ansari is the most deserving candidate for the post of Vice President as he is a man with multi-dimensional persona, opposition parties are not in his favour.

Ansari has represented India as its ambassador in twelve different countries. He served as Indira Gandhi’s chief of protocol in 1980, and was hounored with Padmashree Award for his services during Non-Aligned Summit and the Common Wealth Head of Government Meeting (CHOGM). He worked as Minority Committee Chairman, Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, member of 10th Planning Commission, member of Sachar Committee and so on. Former External Affair Minister K. Natwar Singh recently compared Ansari with Late Dr Zakir Hussain.

Many times it is found that ruling party does the thing as they wish. When Kalyan Singh government passed the most controversial UP Religious Construction Bill, they never took the opinion of opposition party—SP. Thanks to then Indian President K.R Narayan who used pocket veto power and closed it permanently. Otherwise this bill would have led the sovereign, socialist, democratic and republic India towards domestic war.

The most important question is that: Who will come forward to say goodbye to this trend? For how long this draconian orthodox tradition will run the country? I think it is the responsibility of media community to highlight about it. It is also first and foremost accountability of Gen-X to compel the politicians to change their wrong attitude.

Three Wooden Crosses

A farmer and a teacher,
A hooker and a preacher,
Ridin' on a midnight bus bound for Mexico.
One's headed for vacation, one for higher education,
And two of them were searchin' for lost souls.
That driver never ever saw the stop sign.
An' eighteen wheelers can't stop on a dime.
There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway,
Why there's not four of them, Heaven only knows.
I guess it's not what you take when you leave this world behind you,
It's what you leave behind you when you go.
That farmer left a harvest, a home and eighty acres,
The faith an' love for growin' things in his young son's heart.
An' that teacher left her wisdom in the minds of lots of children:
Did her best to give 'em all a better start. An' that preacher
whispered: "Can't you see the Promised Land?" ,
As he laid his blood-stained bible in that hooker's hand.
There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway,
Why there's not four of them, Heaven only knows.
I guess it's not what you take when you leave this world behind you,
It's what you leave behind you when you go.
That's the story that our preacher told last Sunday.
As he held that blood-stained bible up, For all of us to see.
He said: "Bless the farmer, and the teacher, an' the preacher;
"Who gave this Bible to my mamma, "Who read it to me",
There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway,
Why there's not four of them, now I guess we know.
It's not what you take when you leave this world behind you,
It's what you leave behind you when you go.
There are three wooden crosses on the right side of the highway.

Angel on HIGHWAY 109

A drunk man in an Oldsmobile
They said had run the light
That caused the six-car pileup
On 109 that night.
When broken bodies lay about
And blood was everywhere,
The sirens screamed out elegies,
For death was in the air.
A mother, trapped inside her car,
Was heard above the noise;
Her plaintive plea near split the air:
"Oh, God, please spare my boys!"
She fought to loose her pinned hands;
She struggled to get free,
But mangled metal held her fast
In grim captivity.
Her frightened eyes then focused
On where the back seat once had been,
But all she saw was broken glass and
Two children's seats crushed in.
Her twins were nowhere to be seen;
She did not hear them cry,
And then she prayed they'd been thrown free,
"Oh, God, don't let them die!"
Then firemen came and cut her loose,
But when they searched the back,
They found therein no little boys,
But the seat belts were intact.
They thought the woman had gone mad
And was traveling alone,
But when they turned to question her,
They discovered she was gone.
Policemen saw her running wild
And screaming above the noise
In beseeching supplication,
"Please help me find my boys!
They're four years old and wear blue shirts;
Their jeans are blue to match."
One cop spoke up, "They're in my car,
And they don't have a scratch.
They said their daddy put them there
And gave them each a cone,
Then told them both to wait for Mom
To come and take them home.
I've searched the area high and low,
But I can't find their dad.
He must have fled the scene,
I guess, and that is very bad."
The mother hugged the twins and said,
While wiping at a tear,
"He could not flee the scene, you see,
For he's been dead a year."
The cop just looked confused and asked,
"Now, how can that be true?"
The boys said, "Mommy, Daddy came
And left a kiss for you.
He told us not to worry
And that you would be all right,
And then he put us in this car with
The pretty, flashing light.
We wanted him to stay with us,
Because we miss him so,
But Mommy, he just hugged us tight
And said he had to go.
He said someday we'd understand
And told us not to fuss,
And he said to tell you, Mommy,
He's watching over us."
The mother knew without a doubt
That what they spoke was true,
For she recalled their dad's last words,
"I will watch over you."
The firemen's notes could not explain
The twisted, mangled car,
And how the three of them escaped
Without a single scar.
But on the cop's report was scribed,
In print so very fine,
An angel walked the beat tonight
On Highway 109.

Akon - Mr Lonely

Lonely im so lonely,
I have nobody,
To call my owwnnn
Im so lonely, im mr. Lonely
I have nobody,
To call my owwnnn
Im so lonely,

Yo this one here goes out to all my playas out there ya kno got to have one good girl whose always been there like ya
Kno took all the bullshit then one day she cant take it no more and decides to leave

Nothing is all i have....!! :)

As i walk into the darkness
where our love has brought us to,
I can still feel the pain that you have left me through;
the wounds that you've made,
have erased the happiness of my past

When my heart still belong's to you
and you as to mine i can hardly face the truth
that you and i do not belong
to each other's arms
but though still in my heart,
the only person living is you
the sweetness of yesterday
had changed into a bitter tomorrow

The smiles that makes me
had turned into tears that kills me
Your love has been the only treasure I owe
But now my precious treasure has been stolen
and nothing is all i have.... nothing is all I have....!!

When tomorrow comes without me....

When tomorrow starts without me
And I'm not there to see
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me

I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today
While thinking of the many things
We didn't get to say

I know how much you love me
As much as I love you
And each time that you think of me
I know you'll miss me too

But when tomorrow starts without me
Please try to understand
That an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand

He said my place was ready
In heaven far above
And that I would have to leave behind
All those I dearly love

But as I turned to walk away
A tear fell from my eye
For all my life I always thought
I did not want to die

I had so much to live for
So much yet to do
It seemed almost impossible
That I was leaving you

I though of all the yesterdays
The good ones and the bad
I thought of all the love we shared
And all the fun we had

If I could relive yesterday
Just even for a while
I would say goodbye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile

But then I fully realized
That this could never be
For emptiness and memories
Would take the place of me

And when I thought of worldly things
That I might miss the come of tomorrow
I thought of you and when I did
My heart was filled with sorrow

But when I walked through heavens gates
I felt so much at home
When God looked down and smiled at me
From his great golden throne

He said "This is eternity
And all I've promised you
Today for life on earth is past
but here starts anew"

"I promise no tomorrow,
but today will always last
And since each days the same day,
there's no longing for the past"

"But you have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true
Though there were times you did some things
You know you shouldn't do"

"But you have been forgiven,
and now atlast your free
So won't you take my hand,
and share your life with me?"

So when tomorrow starts without me
Don't think we are far apaart
For everytime you think of me
I am right here in your heart

Incomplete

Pour salt on funeral fires,
manequettes strung by devilish wires,
Oh, they're buried, buried, buried in stone tombs,
like fiends in unmerciful wombs,
and I am their God, their Holy; unholy; fraud.

These masquerades!
Red veins bleeding blue,
incisions etched with rusty blades,
like a faceless moon, burdened with broken tattoos.
Into distant miles felicity fades,
childhood crayons coloring me in ugly shades;
And those children, shattered memories from my past,
play as if the nous could be glassed.

So many bright, lights that cast a shadow,
where is the Sun, I don't know,
a shimmering glade putting on erotic shows;
theatrical limericks my invisible hands can't compose.
Throughout forgotten time I'm driven,
I pray to dead Gods that these Sins were forgiven.
Though this heart is not full of death and deceit,
it still feels like I'm incomplete.

Construct stop signs in dialogue
of a mouth sewed shut,
breathing faces, submerged in frozen fog,
let their tongues reveal the fifteenth cut.
Too bad that, one does not exist,
like a pretty bullet in your fist,
And treading on the edge of reason,
that looks just like the jagged lines scribbled on my wrist,
what are you doing? Looking for treason?

Here comes an undead waiter,
carrying the platters shedding my buffet, full of black sugar and sweet,
And though it seems I'm living for the greater,
I feel like I'm incomplete.

Angels Whisper

I walk through an unknown land
My feet so bare I can feel the sand
Is it the breeze? Thats making that sound?
Or is it angels whispering all around?
I can feel the wind blow through my hair,
I can feel the angels watching stare.
They can see deep into my eyes
they can seek out all my hopes and lies.
They whisper as I was on past
So I speed my pace till I'm running fast.
I see the edge of the cliff ahead,
but instead of stopping, I fulfill the dread.
As I jump of the cliff I feel myself fall,
but just as I loose all hope,
I hear an angel call.
Then suddenly I stop falling, and I look to see why.
Theres angels all around, stopping me before I die.
I feel godlike hands grab my arms and legs,
I'm rising to the sky, the angels whisper all around and I relieve a happy cry!

Fire

Fire fire
touch my skin
for every burn
is a flower within
each scar you leave
each drop you dry
you give me no reason to cry
consume me slowly so that i can feel
this beautiful pain, which is too real
cover me with ashes
bury me deep
so that now, i can finally sleep.

For My Grandad

They take the good-en's first they say,
I heard them saying that today.
You weren't young, but you were good,
Why doesn't life work how it should.

I really miss you, it's not fair,
To not see you sitting in your chair.
The one in which you watched TV,
And laughed with Nan, and Dad, and Me.

Toward the end, you weren't yourself,
You hated the fact you needed help.
It was then i think, you knew,
This is hard to write because i miss you.

I know you wouldn't want me to cry,
But i do no matter how hard i try.
You were the only one i ever knew,
And now... I've lost you.

In a better place, you're at peace,
I think that's the only relief.
You being gone, makes me sad,
But I'll meet you again someday,
Grandad....
I'll meet you someday...

Memories of Pain... Or a tortured Brain??

Are my memories at all correct?
Was my vision so ever blurred?
That I once talked so incoherently, I seemed a slur?

Is my retention so utterly wrong?
That a period of life, I believe to have been crying,
I only was sighing.
Have my fragments of sparse memories,
Turned into haunting nightmares,
That never once existed,
Have the multitudes of poems, and stories I've written,
Only been about a tortured brain,
But nothing true,
Nothing sane.
Are my hopes and admirations,
Nothing my false dreams,
Because I've been told 1,000 times how it's impossible,
Unable to be seen.
Well tell me now, Broken Memory of mine,
Answer me Yes or No?
Is there a difference between a dreamer and a listener?

Being cool isn't getting any easier.. Yesterday's dorks turn into today's hipsters!!

It started about a year ago: People walked around campus and other social venues wearing t-shirts enticing you to "embrace your inner Geek." Then it spread to television, with larger than life celebrities declaring themselves a "Movie Geek" or a "Computer Nerd."

Now it's spread into the mainstream. Almost everybody is a geek, a nerd or a dork of some sort; whether it's movies, technology or just a general, run of the mill hipness.

When did it become so cool to be uncool? When did anybody with a passing interest in computers become a computer nerd? And why do people who got to Blockbuster every weekend refer to themselves as the resident movie geek in their circle of friends?

It used to be that geeks, nerds and the like were social outcasts, relegated to their parents' basements to plot the destruction of the world and compile lists of hated people who gave them wedgies in high school after gym class.

Now there are whole styles of coolness dedicated to losers. People with thick glasses, unkempt hair and a large cell phone are "nerd chic." They are the leaders of civilization. Women want them and former high school jocks want to be them.

It would seem that the way to a woman's heart (or a man's heart, depending upon your gender and sexual orientation) is to loudly proclaim your love of Japanese animation and your ability to program in both C+ and Visual Basic.

Which begs the question, is it now to cool to be uncool? If so, what are the current definitions of both cool and uncool? Is uncool cool and cool uncool, or are social distinctions such as these no longer a relevant issue?

How do we avoid the confusion inherent in such questions?

With the advent of the Internet, societal trends move at the speed of light. Yesterday's bellbottoms are tomorrow's Armani suits, and a combination of thick glasses and ill-fitting clothes are the mark of a person on the cusp of greatness.

The good, old-fashioned nerd no longer has a social label under which he or she can rally support. True nerds have been kicked out of their self-prescribed umbrella, forced to wander the social landscape in search of another moniker; one that is either more or less cool, depending upon what is hip at the moment.

Or maybe not. Maybe society has evolved beyond the point at which we need to label certain trends as "good" and others as "bad." Maybe we've finally made it to that utopian playground where good exists in all that surrounds us and we don't have to dunk somebody's head in the toilet for wearing the wrong brand of shoes.

Maybe coolness is just a state of being; that karmic existence where your worth as a person is defined by self-confidence and joie de vie. Clothing doesn't matter. Your love of cheesy '80s cartoons and punk music doesn't matter either. What matters is that you are at peace with who you are.

Or maybe this is just another of society's cruel tricks. Maybe cool really is uncool and vice versa. And maybe by the strange semantic shift, the ones who get lost in the mix are the true losers of society.
Who knows? Certainly not me.
I guess I'm just not cool enough... lol.. ;D

Mumbai Molestation: Are we living in a Civilized World?

I seriously don't know where the civilized world's headed? Are we draining ourselves in the sea of those filthy uncivilized Barbarians, who ultimately ended up destroying themselves? At this point I am short of words... completely down with life... loosing hope... ashamed to call myself part of this system... INDIA GATE.. New Year's Eve... Crowd of around 1700+ people (Bloody Eunuchs I should say)... Perverts of about 60 in number.... 1 Victim... What the HELL were those 1700+ people doing??? Enjoying the show...??? Even worst... there were about 70 Police guys Patrolling that night.. N best part is the excuse they give "No actions have been taken, as there was no formal FIR registered" Bloody My foot I say... My Foot... I don know whom should I blame.... the system... the perverts... the police.. or the crowd???
Am just down with life... disappointed to the core... I really don' know how to react as Am angry and burning like fire inside, Am sad to see n hear what has happened, Am insecure to think that this can happen to anyone of us... ANYONE!!!... DOES EVERYONE HEAR ME?? OR AGAIN HAVE YOU TURNED DEAF LIKE YOU TURNED BLIND, WHEN THAT GIRL WAS MOLESTED??... SIGH!!... Today is the day I say "Am ashamed to be an Indian".

God, Save the world, if cant then you too go to hell.... 'coz IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS TO BE ME... I shall have the last laugh... :(

However my question to you all readers is...
If you are in the crowd and see this happening....what would you do ?
Would you stick your neck out and try to protect the woman ? This at the risk of losing limb and life at the hands of an irate mob ?
Or would you try to record the incident on your cell and hope that it can be used to nab the culprits ?
And finally, if the culprits are nabbed, what is the proper punishment for them.
I personally think that the few in the crowd who resort to such antics should be beaten up by the majority of the bystanders. Public beating and breaking a few bones will do them good for a lifetime.
And if the public does not do its duty, then medically castrate them. That would solve a problem for a lifetime.
OK, the last suggestion is off the top, but that's just because I am so f#$%ing angry at the series of incidents happening in my own country.

5 detained in Mumbai molestation case
Thursday, 04 January , 2007, 13:00

From the IBN News Live!

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police have detained five persons for questioning and identification in the New Year molestation case at the Gateway of India.
All five belong to the Ghatkopar area in the eastern suburbs of the city. However, what is surprising is that no case has been lodged so far.
The Mumbai Police had said on Wednesday that they would take suo motu action against New Year party revellers who molested a young woman at the Gateway of India on December 31.
Video: Is Mumbai still safe? Part I II III IV
Police till late Wednesday evening had claimed that they could order a probe only if somebody filed a complaint.
“I appeal to the general public to come forward if they have any information about the incident or the miscreants as no formal complaint has been registered with us," Mumbai Police Commissioner A N Roy had said.
The girl was molested by nearly 70 drunk revellers in full public view. Her clothes were torn apart even as her male friend was manhandled.
A Mid-Day photographer, Shadab Khan recalls - who saw the whole incident from a police watchtower and captured it on his camera recalls that the couple was surrounded by around 70 men, who tore apart the woman's clothes, while her friend tried to protect her - in vain.
The horror continued for almost 10 minutes before the terrorised couple managed to extricate themselves from the crowd and make a run for it.

‘Spare Orkut as WE are adults’

Why are we always complaining against Orkut? After all we are adults and should make our decisions maturely. If one has joined Orkut then he should have known its ways too.

I CAME ACROSS an article that says a person deleted his Orkut account because someone had put an offensive remark in his account scrap. Is running away the solution to such problems?
Variety is the spice of life. “Offensive material” is a very subjective term. If one has to rank on the scale of 1-10, some may not find it offensive at all and say that it is a part of life. If one surfs through Orkut, he will find some communities that are full of very offensive adult material including pictures and discussions about sex. You can also find nymphomaniacs, dirty sex stories, and all one can think off.

I do agree one should be very refined in his/her conversations but I do not agree that one should stop or censor Orkut. It is an open community for all. It has various communities to join. Join whichever you like and leave the rest as it is for the others rather then cursing or trying to censor them. If you have read the terms and conditions of Orkut then you have agreed that you are an adult. So, face the world and stop hiding in yours mama’s lap.

Moreover, we live in a world where people tease you while walking down the street. Does that mean you need to fly to Mars. No one will be there 24/7 to be your guardian in this world; one will have to be his/her own guardian. Accept it and be strong to face the real world. Life is not a bed of roses; it comes along with thorns.

Many will not anticipate my opinion but try to see this world in the real form rather than expecting someone to monitor it for you. I also want this world to be a better place to live in and that clean thoughts prevail.

Noida Horror - The escalating threat of Paedophiles

Sexual abuse of children is a bitter reality. The Noida horror is a grim reminder of this disgusting evil practice. Parents, teachers and mass media must share prime responsibilities to eradicate this evil from our society.

WHAT HAPPENED IN Nithari, Noida will surely haunt the psyche of the nation for quite sometime. It is horrible, disgusting, and tormenting, even to think of the evil spirit that has descended on this earth. Words cannot describe the vileness of the tragedy.

A paedophile, assisted by another abominable creature, lured children from his neighbourhood for more than two years. Together they abused them, mutilated their bodies and then casually got rid off the remains in their own backyard. Poor, innocent children disappeared from the village at an alarming frequency. The irresponsible police, as is obvious, treated the complaints with callous disregard, which they often reserve for the poor and helpless. In the meanwhile, the devils went on abusing and killing the innocent victims, one after another, without giving a damn to the 38 innocent lives they took.

It is outrageous to believe that the unconcerned police never deemed it fit to act on the complaints of the parents or even register an FIR. Instead, they encouraged the two depraved men to continue with their acts of criminal perversion by not taking any action for more than two years. Equally surprising is the fact that no one in the vicinity noticed anything suspicious. This clearly shows the apathy and values, which characterise our daily lives.

It is true that the two accused, an industrialist and his servant, are not the first paedophiles we have heard of or read about. Also, it is not the first reported case of serial killings in human history. However, the laxity and negligence on the part of the police and the administration, the aloofness of the society or one’s own neighbourhood, and the barbarity of the crime are disconcerting and demoralizing.

Of all the crimes committed against children, paedophilia is the worst, as it leaves the abused children physically and mentally battered for the rest of their lives. The number of surveys and data available on the subject suggest that paedophilia is more common than most people know or can think of.

A paedophile, usually a male, could be anybody - a relative, a neighbour, a teacher, or a servant. The proximity provides an easy access to the victim. A paedophile, in some cases can be a stranger, like the accused in the Nithari incident, who uses enticements, such as chocolates, to lure children into his trap.

Psychologists treat paedophilia as an addiction rather than a mental illness. There are not much in-depth case studies on the topic, as most of the abused children never gather the courage to come out in the open against the perpetrators; or in many cases the family chooses to hush up the matter to avoid further embarrassment and trauma to the child as well the family. And, more often than not, if the paedophile happens to be from the family, the incident is given a quiet burial. Some of the available material include Indian author Pinky Virani’s book Bitter Chocolate, which discusses the prevalence of this crime against children in our society.

It is important to discuss how in future we can shield our children from paedophiles. There are laws. In the year 2003, the then Goan government enacted a comprehensive piece of legislation to put an end to the exploitation of children under 18 years of age, and to save the unsuspecting children from the paedophile ring.

Even though the law may act as a deterrent against child abuse, it may not be sufficient, as every case of child abuse may not be taken to court. There is a need for educating the children at an early age about possible attempts usually made by paedophiles. The parents are in a relatively better position to educate the children in this regard. Teachers also can prove very helpful. Educational institutions, government bodies, and voluntary organisations may further facilitate by spreading awareness about this evil practice among the least literate sections of the society.

The challenge before us, the parents, is to make our children aware of the presence of shady characters in society, and of their wiles and deviousness.

Children usually see things in black and white. For them it is not easy to make out the right and wrong. They are not mature enough to see the shades in between. The challenge is to make them aware of the presence of bad people, who would pretend to be friendly only to take advantage of their (children’s) innocence, gullibility, and vulnerability.

And, we have to do it without tinkering the innocence of the children, lest the child would end up suspecting everyone and everything. It is not an easy task. Who says parenting in modern times is an easy job?

Why Fuss about ORKUT?

The noise over Orkut only exposes the hypocrisy of the noise-makers. They miss the point that it is a new-age networking technology. And like always, potent technologies will change life and values. You can’t stop it.

THIS IS IN defence of Orkut, which has been facing flak for its misuse by the users. Hey, come on stop now! What is Orkut? Isn’t it just a technology that allows you to network — freely? It’s just that. Nothing more or less. How it’s used is entirely the user’s prerogative.
If somebody is morally so offended, the best option for the person is to stop using it. Who is forcing anybody? Orkut certainly is not only for the moral daddy’s. What one doesn’t like, others may like. It’s their choice. If you can’t handle the technology, then bloody don’t use it. No one forces anyone to post personal profile on orkut. If someone posts his/her personal information, that is because the person wants everyone to know about him/her. I don’t see anything wrong here even if there is a bit of exhibitionism here. Because it’s willing and harmless, who are others to take offence? If you do not like, mind your own business and switch off — without spoiling the happiness of others. Who, in any case, are you to set moral standards? Let the users decide what they want. Leave the users alone; they will sort it out.

Like with any technology, it, too, can certainly be misused. Yes, it’s right what some guys have done is really pathetic. I can give names of at least 30 Orkut users who have done the same thing — posted their profile with picture of some of their good-looking friends and incidentally all of them are girls. There are also some desperate women who have done the same. If I am sounding like a male chauvinist, then so be it. But the fact is, this is what happens. Whatever, Orkut cannot be blamed and no efforts should be made to censure it. It has provided the tools to a user to either make it visible to everybody, select friends or to no one but self. The freedom of choice is inbuilt. The user decides how to use it, not Orkut. And there are all kinds of people. And they will remain always — with or without Orkut.

Regarding the photographs, I want to remind those who needlessly object about the times we live in. It’s the age of high technology. And, we all know technology changes life and values. It’s bound to happen with newer and more potent personal technologies. Nobody can stop it. Today, anyone carries a camera phone, which makes it so very easy to get the photographs one wants and post them, including those of good-looking girls, who later discover they have been secretly clicked by someone at a public place. So what should be done about it? Ban the camera phones?? What about the security cams at malls or airports and in offices??? And, if someone does not know, then I take this opportunity to inform just something as small as a car registeration plate is more than enough to get all the personal information of anyone. So what should be done about it????

I think all this hue and cry against Orkut not being safe is just too much of gibberish. Frankly, some people should think less and should not have any misconceptions in life and, above all, try to be more positive. The most funny aspect of all this is that it is Orkut that is being used to spread the message that Orkut is not safe!

Come to me when someone gets raped or killed because of Orkut. Till then shutup. It’s all a nonsense. There are more crimes happening without such networkings. Go and stop them first. Was Jessica Lal murdered because somebody had found her to be too hot on Orkut? Nonsense. You will hear more of these moral qualms from the hypocrites.

Teamlease to top TCS in staff strength

Teamlease to top TCS in staff strength
HARSIMRAN SINGH NEW DELHI
[ TUESDAY, JANUARY 02, 2007 10:41:45 AM]

SOURCE: THE ECONOMIC TIMES

A TEMPORARY staffing company, Teamlease, is all set to become the country's largest private sector employer with 1 lakh people on its rolls by March 31, 2007. In the process, it would overtake India's largest software exporter, TCS, in terms of manpower strength. The IT major, till now the largest employer, has over 80,000 employees and is expected to add about 15,000 over the next 90 days.

Infosys, which proposes to take its staff strength up to 95,000 by March, too could tie with TCS as the second largest employer in the country. The Tata group, as a whole, employs just over 2 lakh people, 40% of which are in TCS. On the other hand, the AV Birla group as a whole has around 82,000 in its 37 companies. IBM India, meanwhile , has about 50,000 employees at present and is hiring at 1,000 per month.

Te a m l e a s e , which has over 60,000 employees, has client orders of 45,000 to be completed by March 31. If it does achieve this, it will have over 100,000 staff on its rolls, becoming the largest private sector employer in India. Teamlease , which meets the temporary manpower requirements of its clients, who are over 300, might become the largest employer but in terms of revenues it is still small.

Teamlease's turnover is about Rs 700 crore while that of TCS is over Rs 14,000 crore. Globally temporary staffing companies do have large manpower strengths as they meet the staffing requirements of a large number of their clients. "We are ramping up fast. At our 23 locations across India , we are hiring about 500-600 per day with an average of 16,000 new employees per month. We are doubling the number of recruiters to 300 this month and are on track to beat TCS," says Rituparna Chakraborty, v-p , Teamlease.

When contacted by ET, here's what a TCS spokesman had to say: "We are about 80,000 currently and are hiring continuously. We had announced a target to hire about 30,000 employees in fiscal 2006-07 , half of which we have already achieved." Most corporate biggies such as the Tatas, AV Birla group, Reliance ADAG, Bharti and RIL have big hiring plans for 2007 but none are willing to disclose them yet. Most of them, especially in the retail and IT spheres, fear rivals will lap up the available talent. Others ET spoke to chose to remain silent, because of the onset of quarterly results this month.

Saddam last moments

30th December 2006 ....
The former Iraqi leader, Saddam Hussein, has been hanged in northern Baghdad for crimes against humanity.
Iraqi state TV showed images of Saddam Hussein going to the gallows before dawn in a building his intelligence services once used for executions.
However the moment of his execution was not shown. Pictures of his body wrapped in a shroud were later broadcast on TV.
A representative of the prime minister and a Sunni Muslim cleric were among a group of Iraqis present.
Saddam Hussein were sentenced to death by an Iraqi court on 5 November after a year-long trial over the killings of 148 Shias from the town of Dujail in the 1980s.

A small group of Iraqis witnessed the execution in a spartan concrete-lined chamber at an Iraqi compound known by the Americans as Camp Justice in the suburb of Khadimiya.
They watched as a judge read out the sentence to Saddam Hussein, 69. The former Iraqi leader was carrying a copy of the Koran and asked for it to be given to a friend.
Footage broadcast later on Iraqi state TV showed a subdued Saddam Hussein being led to gallows by a group of masked men.
He was dressed in a white shirt and dark overcoat, rather than prison garb.
Saddam Hussein was led up onto the gallows platform and a dark piece of cloth placed around his neck, followed by the noose.
When the hangman stepped forward to put the hood over his head, Saddam Hussein made it clear he wanted to die without it.
The hanging itself was not broadcast.
The execution procedure took just a few minutes.
Iraqi National Security Adviser Mouwafak al-Rubaie, who witnessed the execution, told the BBC that the former leader went to the gallows quietly:
"We took him to the gallows and he was saying some few slogans. He was very, very, very, broken."
Images of Saddam Hussein's body were also broadcast on Iraqi TV, still dressed in his overcoat and wrapped in a white sheet.
His body is reported to have been flown by helicopter to an unknown location.
Sources close to the Iraqi prime minister said the body would be buried in Iraq, but would not reveal where.
Saddam Hussein's daughters Raghad and Rana had earlier asked that their father be buried temporarily in Yemen.
According to their spokeswoman, Rasha Oudeh, the two women watched their father's final moments on TV.
"They felt very proud as they saw their father facing his executioners so bravely, standing up," Ms Oudeh said. "They pray that his soul rests in peace."

The following is a full English translation of the letter written by Saddam Hussein to the Iraqi people, as released yesterday at the AlBasrah.net website.
Source: http://www.albasrah.net/ar_articles_2006/1206/sadam_261206.htm

"In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate:
'Say: Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us: He is our protector: and in Allah let the Believers put their trust'
Oh, great people of Iraq. Oh, courageous men of our unrelenting armed forces. Oh, glorious Iraqi women. Oh, sons of our glorious nation, the courageous believers in the brave resistance.
In the past, I was, as you all know, in the battlefield of jihad and struggle. God, exalted be He, wished that I face the same again in the same manner and the same spirit in which we were before the revolution but with a problem that is greater and harsher.
Oh beloved, this harsh situation, which we and our great Iraq are facing, is a new lesson and a new trial for the people by which to be judged, each depending on their intention, so that it becomes an identifier before God and the people in the present and after our current situation becomes a glorious history. It is, above all, the foundation upon which the success of the future phases of history can be built. In this situation and in no other, the veritable are the honest and faithful and the opposing are the false. When the insignificant people use the power given to them by the foreigners to oppress their own people, they are but worthless and lowly. In our country only good must result from what we are experiencing:
'The scum disappears like froth cast out; while that which is for the good of mankind remains on the earth'
God is all knowing.
Oh great nation. Oh people of our nation and of mankind. Many of you have known the owner of this letter for his truthfulness, his honesty, his purity, and his genuine concern over his people, for his wisdom, his vision, his justice, and for his firmness in dealing with issues and for his watchfulness over the properties of the people and of the country, and for living according to his conscience and his mind. His heart aches for the poor and he does not rest until he helps in improving their condition and attends to their needs. His heart contains all his people and his nation, and he craves to be honest and faithful without differentiating between his people except on the basis of their efforts, efficiency, and patriotism.
Here I am speaking today in your name and for your eyes and the eyes of our nation and the eyes of the just, the people of the truth, wherever their banner is hoisted.
Oh Iraqi people, oh our people and our folks and the folks of every honest and glorious man and woman in our country. You have known your brother and leader as well as his own family knew him. He never stooped to the cruel oppressors. He remained a sword and an authority on what is loved by the honest and abhorred by the oppressors.
Is this not the position which you would like your brother, your son, and your leader to take? Yes, this is how Saddam Hussein was described, and this is how his positions will be. If his positions did not, God forbid, correspond with his description, then he would despise himself. These are the stands which anyone who leads you and leads the nation must take, after God the Almighty and the all capable.
Here I am offering my soul as a sacrifice. If the Merciful wants it, he will raise it up whenever He commands it to be with the companions and the martyrs, and if He sees that He wants to postpone His decision, He will, because He is the Merciful and the Compassionate. He is the One who created us, and to Him we return. 'Patience is most fitting.' It is God whose help can be sought against the unjust.
Oh brothers, oh great nation. I call upon you to preserve the convictions which made you worthy of the faith that you have and to be the guiding light for civilization. Make your land, the birthplace of the father of the prophets, Abraham of Al-Khalil, and other prophets, and to preserve the values which officially and justifiably gave you the title of greatness for the sake of your country and your people. He offered all his life and the life of his family, young and old from the very beginning to this great nation and its faithful and honorable people and never gave up. In spite of all the difficulties and the storms which we and Iraq had to face, before and after the revolution, God the Almighty did not want death for Saddam Hussein. But if He wants it this time, it is His creation. He created it and He protected it until now. Thus, by its martyrdom, He will be bringing glory to a faithful soul, for there were souls that were younger than Saddam Hussein that had departed and had taken this path before him. If He wants it martyred, we thank Him and offer Him gratitude, before and after. 'Patience is most fitting.' It is God whose help can be sought against the unjust.
In the shadow of the greatness of the Creator, may He be exalted, and His protection, you must remember that God has bestowed on you different types of characteristics that make you a good example to be followed in love, pardon, forgiveness, and coexistence. The great make up of capabilities and resources which the Merciful had made available to you, was not meant to go to waste. He wanted it to be a test that would refine the souls. Hence there were some who joined your lines and others who joined the North Atlantic Treaty. Others were the Persians who are hateful as a result of their rulers' actions who had inherited Kisra's inheritance in place of Satan. He tempted those who obeyed him to turn against their own people or against their neighbors or tempted the Zionist aspirations and hatefulness to move their representative in the American White House to carry out the aggression and to create animosity that has nothing to do with humanity and faith. On the basis of faith, love, and peace, which bring glory and not bitterness to the glorified, you built the edifice and raised it without any fight or spite, and on this basis you were enjoying glory and peace in your beautiful colors, under the country's flag, not in the distant past, especially after your distinguished revolution, your 17th revolution, on 30 July 1968. You realized victory and you carried it in the color of the one great Iraq as loving brothers in the battle trenches or in the construction fields. The enemies of your country, the invaders and the Persians, found that your unity stands as a barrier between them and your enslavement. They planted and grounded their hateful old and new wedge between you. The strangers who are carrying the Iraqi citizenship, whose hearts are empty or filled with the hatred that was planted in them by Iran, responded to it, but how wrong they were to think that they could divide the noble among our people, weaken your determination, and fill the hearts of the sons of the nation with hatred against each other, instead of against their true enemies that will lead them in one direction to fight under the banner of God is great: The great flag of the people and the nation.
Oh brothers! Oh mujahideen and fighters! For this I call on you now and I call on you not to hate because hate does not leave space for a person to be fair. It blinds you and closes all doors of thinking. Hate prevents you from thinking straight and from making the right choices and avoiding the wrong. It blocks your vision and prevents you from seeing the variables in the mind of those who were thought of as enemies, including those people who had gone astray but have changed their direction and have taken the right path, the path of the noble people and the glorious nation.
I also call on you, brothers and sisters, my children and the children of Iraq. I call on you, oh comrades of jihad; I call on you not to hate the people of the other countries that attacked us. You should distinguish between the decision-makers and the people. Just hate the action. Even those whose actions deserve to be fought--do not hate them as human beings. Also, the doers of evil, do not hate them, but hate the evil deed itself and fight the evil with what it deserves. Whoever changes to the better or does good inside or outside Iraq, give him clemency and open a new page for him because God forgives and loves whoever forgives out of willingness. Firmness is necessary if the situation calls for it. To be accepted by the people and the nation, one should base things on the law and must be fair and just. One should not be hostile on the basis of spitefulness and illegal pursuits.
You should know brothers, that among the aggressors, there are people who support your struggle against the invaders, and some of them volunteered for the legal defense of prisoners, including Saddam Hussein. Others revealed the scandals of the invaders and condemned them. Some even wept profusely and with noble sincerity when they said goodbye to us when they ended their duty. To this I call on you to be one loyal nation, kind to itself, to its nation, and to humanity, and sincere with others and with oneself.
Dear faithful people, I bid you farewell, but I will be with the merciful God who helps those who take refuge in him and who will never disappoint any honest believer.
God is great. God is great.
Long live our nation. Long live humanity in the light of security and peace, wherever it imparts justice and fairness.
Long live our great unyielding people. Long live Iraq. Long live Iraq. Long live Palestine.
Long live jihad and the mujahideen. Allah Akbar. And the wretched aggressors shall be repelled.

A sign on the Whitehouse Emblem says "In God we Trust"... Might I take previlage in Asking Bush "Which damn God does he trust in????????"

How can a man who thinks himself as God, trust in a Superpower above him????

Saddam died as a fighter... A true Hero... he had no fear of death when he was dying...

Look at the Photos below, do you see any fear of death in his eyes:

Saddam knew he was right and so he did not fear death... Today Saddam as a person is dead.. but Saddam as a thought has become more powerful... Bush thinks he's a Hero... I say my Foot. With this action Anti-U.S feeling have increased and soon Bush would die the worst death. Those of you who would see the Video of Saddam's Execution would agree to me. I would like to ring the bell in Bush's Ears and remind him the U.S Official Motto: "IN GOD WE TRUST"

Saddam Hussain's Execution was a Mockery to World Politics....!!!

I ask "HAS THE WORLD GONE DEAF N BLIND??" Cant they see what Bush's plans are??? He first attacked Iraq accusing Iraq's involvement in 9/11 attacks (which was bullshit.. i have my own doubts that bush himself was involved in those attacks.. N why the fuk.. excuse me for the language.. is he landin his stinkin ass in the Oil countries only???). Cant the U.N see it's a bloody OIL WAR.. u heard me.. A BLOOOODY OIL WAR...

If this is where world politics is going... I call for a Revolution... It's time that the youth of the world unite and do something to "Heal the Mother Earth". At this rate in near future humanity would completly BE wiped out.

N this is to all the Damn Leaders of the world... What has happened to Saddam, will happen to you as well.. When he cried for justice you were hidin in the shadows and watchin, but when your ass would be on fire (which would definitly be) u'd know what it feels to be Saddam.. DO NOT TRUST THE FILTHY BUSH GOVERNMENT..

Know all who can hear me, that i express grave reservations about the Bush Government and their recent outrageous actions. By any means, kanly or otherwise they must be brought to justice. I (representating my Indian Awakining Army (IIA) - whole India) is no ally of the illegal puppet colition government of Iraq nor do we acknowledge it-How dare they start playing king-king child's play n ruin the future of a nation??

Is the world still civilized or do we drown ourselves in the sea of Barbarians?
If the Nations of the world ignores this increadible tragedy, can you not see the that this can happen to any one of you?? How dare they attack another country(s) n its members assassinated overnight on a whim, and still worst is that no one believes it is wrong?? any power can crush another nation and rest of 'em will simply cover their eyes and hope it doesnt happen to you next?? When it comes to INDIA let me tell the Bush Admin that my IIA is all prepared for the worst to protect our mother land. We might be greatly outnumbered but my men n women are the one who shall fight the last battle, last man n the last round. My army might be young but it's not blind. IIA values loyalty and honour far above politics. I admonish each n everyone of you to remember Saddam Hussain. It can happen to you. Ask yourself "Whom can we really trust?".... WHOM CAN WE REALLY TRUST???????
